Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability (3CS)

The Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability (3CS) at Ashoka University is a unique multidisciplinary Centre that grew out of a shared concern for our planet and the environment across many disciplines in the University.

Multidisciplinarity

Faculty members from Physics, Biology, Economics, Environmental Studies, History, Media Studies, Literature, Creative Writing and Computer Science have come together in 3CS to research, have conversations and plan interventions. 3CS is committed to awareness, advocacy and research on issues of climate change and sustainability both global and of particular relevance to India.

Communication

3CS will focus on high-impact communication on the urgency of issues related to climate change and sustainability. Mindful of the diversity of the audience, 3CS will formulate diverse communicative strategies to reach out to policy makers, school children, the wider population, as well as researchers and institutions. The content of the communication will emerge from research conducted by Ashoka’s remarkable community of scholars and researchers.

Research

3CS will encourage and support cutting edge research of an interdisciplinary nature on issues related to climate change and sustainability. The Centre will organize workshops to serve as the forum for group discussions related to research.

Activities

3CS will serve as the platform for knowledge exchange and as the seedbed for new ideas through a range of activities including conferences, seminars, webinars, projects and outreach programmes.

Collaborations

3CS will build institutional linkages and collaborative networks to strengthen its goal of achieving an impact on issues of climate change and sustainability.
