Ph.D. in English, Batch of 2019, Ashoka University
Research Area: Queer StudiesIn his research, Anup aims to understand how region as a discursive location unsettles linearities of space and time that creates nations, worlds, diasporas; how queerness as a mediated form of experience produces mobile regions interlinking multiple ideas of the national and the global, thereby complicating conventional conceptualizations of the diaspora. He has previously produced a dissertation titled “Politics of the Queer in India: Space(s) and Text(s),” in which he investigated queerness as a political concept in India. Queer Theory, Postcolonial, South Asian and Transnational Literatures are his broadest areas of academic interest.
