Dimitry Shevchenko

Dimitry Shevchenko served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Asian Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem since 2018. He has taught at the University of New Mexico, Tel Aviv University, Hebrew University, and the Academic and Technology College of Tel-Hai. He received his MA in South and East Asian Studies from Tel Aviv University in 2014 and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of New Mexico in 2018.

Dr. Shevchenko’s interests center around the history of Indian philosophy, in particular the major classical Brahmanical philosophical traditions, such as Sāṃkhya, Yoga, and Advaita Vedānta. His main areas of specialization include philosophy of mind, epistemology, comparative philosophy, and philosophy of religion in India. He has published on these issues in several academic journals.
