Kaviarasi hails from an agricultural background and her parents are farm labourers. She and her sister are the first generation graduates in their family. She pursued her Bachelors degree in Chemistry from Sri Paramakalyani College. Fortunately, she was the only girl child who had her higher education immediately after completing HSC. Her other siblings had to work for a minimum of one year to earn money for their higher education. She would stitch clothes and go for paddy field work during her holidays to earn money for her higher education. That was the main reason she developed a massive interest in agriculture.
She also believes that it doesn’t matter where you come from, you can always change your life if you are willing to work towards it.
Since her school days, she has been interested in Tamil Literature. She was influenced by the Tamil poet Bharathiyar for his unique thoughts. She was awarded Rs.10,000 for state level Tamil poetry competition.
During her college days, she was an active coordinator in NSS and that taught her lot of lessons to serve society. She attended an NSS camp at school of special children (deaf and dumb school) and was amazed by the way they confidently dealt with everything in their lives. This made her realise that she could do so much in her life and many others’.
With the quest to serve society, she was volunteering with Bodhi Tree Foundation that has an ambition to empowering rural India. As a volunteer, she met more a lot more rural graduate students and found the opportunity to learn many things from them. This gave her immense satisfaction and played an important role in shaping her dreams to serve the society.
