Monika Bhalvani is the Deputy Manager, Office of Learning Support (OLS), at Ashoka University. At the OLS, she plays an instrumental role in coordinating the office’s efforts towards ensuring and promoting holistic inclusion of students with physical, learning, and neurodevelopmental disabilities at Ashoka.

Her passion and interest in the field of disability were developed during her undergraduate years where she interned with disability-related organizations and conducted fieldwork with children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disabilities in Northern India. Realizing the harsh on ground realities through which persons with disabilities are structurally invisibilized from the mainstream society in all spheres of life, she found her calling for this field.

She strongly believes that it is the environment that makes an individual “abled” or “disabled”. When a conducive environment is consciously created to meet everyone’s individual needs, it is possible for anyone and everyone to thrive and succeed, no matter what their learning condition is.

She completed her Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree in Psychology with Sociology from Ashoka University in May 2018, followed by a P.G. Diploma in Advanced Studies and Research in Psychology in May 2019.
