Shagun Sinha

Visiting Faculty of Sanskrit, Ashoka University

Shagun Sinha is a visiting faculty of Sanskrit at Ashoka university. A final year PhD student at the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Sinha has experience in teaching courses in Sanskrit language and computational linguistics to heterogeneous groups of students.

Her research interests include language pedagogy, Paninian grammar and computational linguistics. She has presented her works at the conference of the European language association and Linguistic Society of India among others. She also has participated in the Lisbon machine learning school 2021 and a student exchange program at the University of Zurich.  Sinha is a passionate public speaker who also enjoys good humour as well as good food.

Sinha developed a penchant for language learning as a result of the training she received at all the major educational institutions she has been a part of, namely, KV, LSR, and JNU. She is passionate about enhancing the course of and discourse around Sanskrit pedagogy in India to pave the way for interdisciplinary research and multifaceted thinking in the language including its rich intellectual traditions.
