Subhash Bhalla

Visiting professor of Computer Science, Ashoka University

PhD, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Prof. Subhash Bhalla did his educational studies and PhD at IIT Delhi. He was a post-doc at Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA for 1 year. He started a teaching by joining Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), at the School of Computer and Systems Sciences, at New Delhi. Currently, he is a professor at the Division of Information Systems at the University of Aizu, Japan. He is a member of the Computer Society (IEEE) and SIGMOD (ACM).

Dr. Bhalla has received several grants for research projects. He currently participates in research activities on- Standardized Electronic Health Records and Big Data in Healthcare- Medline, MedlinePlus, and PubMed repositories. He is exploring database designs to support models for Information Interchange through the World wide Web.

Prof. Bhalla is an Associate Editor of International Journal of Computational Science and Engineering. He has served as program committee member in prestigious international conferences on VLDB, and SIGMOD. His professional interests include- Managing components and application services, Synchronization and Crash Recovery, Integration of technologies, New query languages, Big data repositories in science and astronomy, Polystore Data Management, Blockchains in Edge Computing and Cloud based Databases. Data management and visualization for data mining and machine learning.
