Varun Thapar is the vice-chairman of the KCT Group. He is the fourth generation of his family to spearhead the 80-year old diversified business conglomerate, which is engaged in bulk commodity logistics, aquaculture, real estate, and finance.
Varun is passionate about the promotion of education and the arts, and is himself an avid classical pianist. He supports scholarships and research programmes at Brown University, IIT Dhanbad, and the Thapar Institute of Engineering. Along with his sister Nitasha, he runs a chain of education centres for underprivileged girls called the Kashvi Learning Centres.
He completed his bachelor’s degree from Brown University, where he doubled majored in economics and European history.
