Trivedi School of Biosciences (please link it to the webpage) at Ashoka University invites applications for the first cohort of the Simons Fellowship Programme. Housed at Ashoka, this is a first-of-its-kind initiative by the Simons Foundation, outside the United States in a developing country.
The Fellowship will support outstanding interdisciplinary post-doctoral researchers working towards obtaining quantitative insights in biomedical sciences and related areas, including mathematical and computational biology and big data analysis for health.
The fellows will benefit from the experience of Ashoka’s talented faculty in the sciences, and are likely to get the opportunity to visit and perform part of their research in a partner international institution. They will also get the opportunity to leverage the rich ecosystem of scientific research in and around the National Capital Region of India, which houses several leading universities and laboratories. A cohort of max 6 selected fellows will be mentored by 6 Senior Fellows recruited from amongst accomplished scientists in India.
Fellows will receive an annual compensation of about USD 24,000 (~18 lakhs INR) for a maximum of 3 years, along with other academic allowances. The fellowship start date is expected to be in March, 2023 (and is negotiable to some extent).

The Simons Society of Fellows was founded in 2014. It is a community of scholars formed to encourage intellectual interactions across disciplines, and across research centers in the New York City area.
