Studies in American Literature: Conspiracy Fiction

This course will provide a broad historical and theoretical overview of 20th century
American literature through the optics of conspiracy theory. The reading
list will consist of a mishmash of fictional, fictive, and purportedly
non-fiction texts. Possible authors include but are not limited to
Sutton Griggs, Jack London, Elizabeth Dilling, Ayn Rand, Ralph Ellison,
Thomas Pynchon, Ishmael Reed, Octavia Butler, and Constance Cumbey.
