Ali Ahsan

Ali Ahsan focuses on the study of coastal communities and the literature associated with them across Southwest India. The central question surrounds the influence of Arabic on minor languages, as well as the politics of script change that comes with the modern nation state and its language policies. He has previously studied the Beary community of Mangalore comparatively in a dissertation titled “Minor Literatures: Two Novelson the Bearys”.
