Writing Fellow
Trained in sociology at the Delhi School of Economics, Amaan completed his M.Phil and Master’s degrees with a thesis titled ‘Cataloguing Crises: Towards an Anthropology of Fake News’. As an independent researcher, graduate in English literature and a student of law, he nurses a desire to trace how different forms of language circulate and affect our mass-mediated lives. Through the ICT, he situates writing as a particular mode of thought that aspires to be more than a mute receptacle for information. His courses anchor writing to concepts like “media” and “authenticity” through readings from sociology, literature, and the history of law.
