Anjali Taneja

Anjali is currently the Associate Director of Science Policy Initiative under the Office of Research and Development at Ashoka University. She has been with the Policy Cell since its inception and has played an instrumental role in the growth and progress of the initiative. Anjali is a policy specialist and an interdisciplinary research expert. Her primary policy interests include an understanding of applied sciences in practical applications for policymaking, higher education, skills development, human capital investment, and economic growth and development.

Anjali has over 14 years of professional experience in policy advocacy, evidence-based research, project development, partnerships and collaborations and promoting academia-industry-government interlinkages. She has served different institutions across the government and the industry in diverse roles and responsibilities. This tenure spans multilateral institutions like UNDP, working with the Government of India and inapex industry chambers like FICCI and CII, where she has spearheaded several developmental projects in India and overseas. Before joining Ashoka University, Anjali was working as the Deputy Director in the international division of FICCI. 

Her academic record comprises a Ph.D. as well as an M.A.(Economics) from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a B.A. (Hons) in Economics from Delhi University. She has been contributing extensively for peer reviewed journals, online and print media. Her work has been published in various reputed journals and in Indian and international media (Google Scholar).
