Priya comes from a traditional Marwadi family from the city of Hyderabad. She excelled at studies and was a topper in 10th standard. She had great interest in Mathematics and Physics and chose science for higher secondary. But before her final exams in 12th standard she realised that she did not want to be an engineer and chose to study social sciences for graduation.
Studying at Xavier’s in Bombay added a whole new dimension to her thinking and persona with its cultural and social diversity. She was a part of major college festivals like Malhar, Janfest, Antas, Econundrum and Antarchakshu in hospitality, PR and marketing departments. She was the head of Public Relations team of 20 people for the first edition of mathematics festival called Axiom. Alongside college, she worked part-time for an international art and culture organisation, International Delphic Council, as the event and communication coordinator where she acquired new skills and honed her innate ones. She interned at World Wide Open, the advertisement and media wing of Reliance Entertainment and at Triegg, an online portal to meet needs of college students. She worked at an advertising company after graduation. Finally, a month’s stay at ICRISAT made her realise that the agriculture sector is her real calling. Priya wants to be an entrepreneur and help small and medium farmers overcome challenges they face today.
In her spare time, Priya loves to watch movies. She likes to grow plants and dreams of having a huge garden someday. She likes to cook occasionally and wants to travel the world. She is spiritually inclined and yoga is her way of liberation.
At Young India Fellowship, Priya seeks an enriching experience which is beyond conventional education. She hopes to discover newer interests and push herself to do better amidst the huge diversity that breeds on campus.
