Shubham’s story began in the small town of Sonepat in Haryana. From a very young age, he has shown unprecedented courage and has always persevered to achieve something meaningful in life. He was always academically sound and graduated as a chemical engineer from a reputed state university. In his sophomore year, he tutored middle school students to realize his nascent philanthropic goal of educating young minds. For a brief period, he interned at Mohan Meakin Ltd. as well. Though having sound knowledge in the domain, Shubham felt that engineering did not appease his thirst for learning and that he wanted a wholesome education. It left him disgruntled.
Shubham aspires to work in the education sector. He believes that disciplines like literature and social studies build character, awareness, and critical thinking. He would like to work in the development sector to bring about a positive change in society. Through YIF, he hopes to work in an environment designed to help develop a critical response to various situations and perspectives. He wishes to see the world with various lenses his peers are using. It will help him build character and become more aware and astute.
