Counseling can be defined as ‘a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals’ (American Counseling Association , ACA).
Counseling at ACWB will focus on helping you deal with problems that may be coming in the way of having a fulfilling campus life at Ashoka. It focuses on helping students find their inner strength and help them deal with anything that is hindering their Ashoka experience. The process of talking to a trained counselor will involve exploring feelings, beliefs, thoughts, and relevant events. This process will attempt to enable you in understanding yourself.
We at ACWB provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for you to talk about your concerns or worries, and collaborate to uncover your strengths and ways to cope in life circumstances effectively and efficiently.

You can reach out to us anytime you’re feeling anxious, having sudden change in mood, feeling low, stuck, or unable to perform to your fullest potential, or there is some sort of distress, feelings of helplessness or confusion, academic pressures, relationship troubles, adjustment issues etc.

At ACWB, we assure confidentiality and encourage conversations about problems no matter how big or small they may appear to you or others.

Counselling works at a different pace for different individuals. So it is difficult to say how many sessions would make you feel better but one thing for sure one session will not do it all. We encourage you to come to at least four-five sessions before you decide to go even further. Together you and your counselor in a collaborative way can then set goals and the timeline for further sessions.
