IndiAfrica Summit

The IndiAfrica summit was organized at Ashoka University this year witnessing cross-border innovation and collaboration between top South African young entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurial talent from Ashoka.

The summit focused on the following:

• Creating a strong framework of collaboration and innovation between the youth of two countries
• Co-creating solutions relevant for both economies
• Cross mentoring solutions for South African and Indian entrepreneurial challenges
• Exploring entrepreneurial partnership opportunities between the two nations

The event was organized in collaboration with Startup Safari, an ecosystem immersion program that connects the top global entrepreneurial talent to the fastest growing startup ecosystems around the world.

Startup India Campus Connect Program

GeneratioNext Student Outreach workshop was organized in collaboration with Startup India, an initiative of the Government of India to support and promote entrepreneurship. The session aimed to equip students with relevant information on the current startup environment of India and explore schemes and opportunities relevant to students.

The workshop consisted of the following:

• Informal context setting and a brief overview of Startup India
• Session on Government of India’s initiatives and available resources for Student Entrepreneurship: Introducing the students to resources available such as MOOCs, Startup India Learning and Development program, mentors and other connects available on Startup India Hub
• Quiz/Activity/Feedback: A small activity and quiz to gauge the level of interest in entrepreneurship among students
• Open House: A freewheeling informal Q/A session wherein students could share their concerns, entrepreneurial ideas, seek guidance etc.
